Jabariya Jodi box office collection day 2: This week's release Jabariya Jodi was supposed to be an important film for both Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra, who have tasted more failures than success over the last few years. As it turns out, their wait for a hit just got longer as the Prashant Singh directorial has got off to a disastrous start at the box office and is struggling to enter double-digit figures in its opening weekend. The film had a slow start on Friday, earning just Rs 3.15 crore. "JabariyaJodi is dull on Day 1... Needs miraculous growth on Day 2 and 3 for a respectable weekend total... Fri ₹ 3.15 cr. India biz," film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted on Saturday.

Jabariya Jodi did improve on second day but the growth was marginal and certainly not enough to ditch the flop tag. Trade analyst Sumit Kadel confirmed that Jabariya Jodi has earned Rs 3.80 crore on its second day, taking the overall collection to Rs 6.55 crore. At this rate, the film collections could be at less than Rs 11 crore. "#JabariyaJodi Saturday- ₹ 3.80 cr nett. Two Days Total- ₹ 6.55 cr nett. First weekend would be- ₹ 10.50-11 cr nett. FLOP," Kadel tweeted.

The road ahead isn't going to be easy for the film as it faces tough competition from Hollywood releases like Hobbs & Shaw and The Lion King that are doing well at the box office. The former has managed to entertain the audience, taking its overall collection to Rs 65 crore. Meanwhile, The Lion King is already a blockbuster in India after minting a whopping Rs 146.76 crore. The film is yet to slow down and should cross the Rs 150 crore mark easily.

To make life more miserable for Jabariya Jodi, the coming week will see three massive releases in Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal, John Abraham's Batla House and Quentin Tarantino's highly-awaited film 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' which stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio.

In fact, all these films are releasing a day ahead on Thursday due to an extended weekend because of Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan. So, the Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer has only four days to rake in as much as it could before the bigger box office battle starts.
