IRCTC users ALERT! Indian Railways catering arm warns passengers against doing this
Its notable that the IRCTC allows a user to book only 6 tickets in a month.
Indian Railways passengers alert! Do you book your train tickets using Indian Railways Catering and Tourism official website irctc.co.in? If yes, then the railways' arm has a message for you. The IRCTC has warned its users against sharing their login ID and password with anyone.
"IRCTC requests all its customers not to share their IRCTC username/password with an unknown person. Doing this can put you in trouble. Please keep the information confined to you," said the IRCTC in a tweet.
Noteworthy, the IRCTC allows a user to book only 6 tickets in a month. However, those who have linked their Aadhaar to the IRCTC account can book as many as 12 tickets in a month. If someone else books tickets using your ID, you might not be able to book tickets if the given limit is exhausted.
However, you needn't worry about losing your bank or card details as the IRCTC doesn't save these confidential details. Every time you use the website to book tickets, you are required to enter the payment details afresh.
Recently, the IRCTC has also issued a mailer to its users alerting them about the e-ticketing website irctc.co.in's migration to TLS 1.2. It said that TLS 1.2 is not supported in older versions of operating systems like Windows XP & Windows Server 2003. Therefore, after migration IRCTC e-ticketing website will not be accessible in Windows XP and Windows server 2003. Users may upgrade their operating systems higher than Windows XP/Server 2003.
