Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is offering one of the most exciting tour packages under Rs 20,000 for travellers looking to head to South India. The three packages offered by IRCTC are called 'Southern Marvel, Dakshin Bharat Yatra and Chennai-Kanyakumari-Rameswaram-Madurai tour'. The tourists have option to choose any of these options to decide the best travel package that suits their pocket and needs.

Here's all you need to know South India trips by IRCTC:

1. Chennai- Kanyakumari- Rameswaram-Madurai tour

The 'Chennai-Kanyakumari-Rameswaram-Madurai' tour offered by IRCTC, is a 4 nights and 5 days long trip. The cost of the package is Rs 12,170 per person in a comfort class. while, the package cost for a group booking is Rs 9, 540 per person in a comfort class. The tourists travelling this tour will get to visit Kumari Amman Temple, Three Seas Mingle Point, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Mandapam, among other places in the region.

2. Southern Marvel tour

The 'Southern Marvel' tour is for 5 nights and 7 days, which will cover destinations like Mumbai, Madurai, Rameswaram, and Kanyakumari in Southern India. The tour starts on every Friday from Mumbai, as per IRCTC's website. While the cost of this package is Rs 15,090 per person. The train number 11043 serves the pusrpose of this trip, for the onward journey. While for the immediate journey, train number 22621 departs every Monday. Meanwhile for the return journey on every Wednesday, train number 16340 departs from Nagercoil Junction.

3. Dakshin Bharat Yatra tour

The third package is 'Dakshin Bharat Yatra' tour, which is for 13 nights and 14 days. It covers various popular Southern India destinations like Rameswaram, Madurai, Kovalam, Trivandrum, Kanyakumari, Tiruchirapalli, Tirupati, and Mallikarjuna. The tour will start on June 16th, 2019 and the cost of the package is Rs 12,285 per person, as per the IRCTC website.
