Starting from January 1, the Patna-Kota express will serve vegetarian and non-vegetarian food for Rs 50 and Rs 55 respectively. The food will be procured from the 'Jan Ahaar' counters atthe railway junction. This action is being taken up after multiple complaints were lodged against the pricing of the food by contractors inside the train.
The complaints stated that the food available inside the train is priced for Rs 90- Rs 140 while outside the train it is easily accessible for Rs 50. Hence, IRCTC, has decided to act upon it. According to a report by Hindi daily Prabhat Khabar, the catering supervisor will supervise the food quality the passengers complain about.
To help find a solution to the problem during the journey, the IRCTC has appointed catering supervisors in the leading trains of East-Centrl Railway. Sampoorn Kranti Express, Rajdhani, Shramjivi, Patna-Kota, Bihar Sampark Kranti, Sapt Kranti Express, Vaishali express etc have catering supervisors.
The facility will be soon made available in all trains in the coming days. "Food in Patna-Kota express will be served for Rs 50-55. The complaints regarding the food will be solved during the journey itself. All the express trains will soon have the supervisors." said Rajesh Kumar, regional manager, IRCTC was quoted as saying in the report.
