Now, the Indian Railways passengers will experience a different taste, as the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will serve an updated food menu from today (July 15). This comes in wake of a new Indian Railways initiative that enables passengers to track how their meals are being prepared in the central kitchen through CCTV cameras live.
IRCTC had earlier launched 'Menu On Rails' app where passengers can see the price of meals served in trains and also allowed them to order food from outside. For the last one year, the Indian Railways has been bringing in a lot of changes in food served on trains.
Here is the detailed menu:
Welcome drink (2A/3A/CC)
200 ml branded Nimbu Paani and Refreshing Tissue
Morning tea (2A/3A/CC)
Tea Coffee kit-1 Sugar/ Sugar-free Sachet (07 gms)-1 Coffee (1.5-2 gms) or Tea Bag (2 gms)-1 Milk creamer Sachet (5 gms) and 2 Biscuits(Marie)
Vegetarian options
2 Paratha, branded curd (100 gms each), Pickle-2, 2 Besan Chila with chutney and branded curd (100 gms each). Cutlet (50 gms each) with finger chips & boiled veg. (25 gms)-2 Veg. Cutlet (50 gms each)-Paneer-a-la-keive (30 gms) with finger chips & boiled veg. (25 gms)-Dhokla (100 gms) with chutney and Mirch (30 gms) poha (100 gms) with chutney (30 gms)-2 Idly/ Rice Pongal/ Rava upma (100 gms) &Onion Uttapam (100 gms) & Medu Vada (30 gms) with Sambar (100 gms) & Coconut chutney (40 gms), the report said.
