Indian Railways promises a special Kumbh mela experience, gives Prayagraj Express coach a makeover; watch video

Indian Railways is gearing up for Kumbh 2019 to be held at Allahabad. In its endeavor to serve the pilgrims visiting Triveni Sangam, Allahabad, North Central Railway is refurbishing the coaches of prestigious trains connecting Allahabad to different parts of the nation on the theme of Kumbh Mela 2019. These trains will be carrying the pilgrims during the Kumbh Mela. The North Central Railway has recently unveiled the first such AC-1 COACH. This coach is one of it's kind.

This newly 'Kumbh Themed' coach will be attached to the prestigious PRAYAGRAJ EXPRESS, (Train No. 12417/18) with the aim to provide a delightful experience to devotees and passengers visiting Allahabad during/for the Kumbh Mela and also after the Mela has been concluded. 

This First AC coach wears the 'Kumbh 2019 logo' on one side of the coach along with vinyl wrapping, with beautiful images of the temples and tent-city for devotees in the Mela area. The Vestibule area has been wrapped portraying the serene view of the night at Kumbh Mela area. 

Entire gangway area has been refurbished, displaying devotees doing their ablutions along the riverside and painted with attractive motifs. Such a thematic display of the scenic beauty of Kumbh area would give a pleasant feeling to passengers travelling in the train, especially during the mega event at Allahabad.

Every compartment of the coach has been painted displaying motifs and designed acrylic pattern. The coach has also been provided with fresh linen, fire retardant curtains along with high-quality lavatory faucet fittings for enriched experience to passengers. 

Auto odour dispenser system has been installed in the coach, to provide a pleasing fragrance to passengers boarding the train. The toilets of the coach have been refurbished, a bathroom compartment for the bathing purpose has also been modified and a bio-toilet announcement system has been also incorporated into the coach toilets announcing the proper way of utilisation of bio toilet passengers. This KUMBH thematic coach has been developed with dedicated efforts of Allahabad coaching Depot.

Rajiv Chaudhry, General Manager, North Central Railway inspected the coach last week and said, "We should have exemplary dedication, alertness and courtesy while serving the passengers at all times & especially during Kumbh Mela. This coach will definitely be helpful in providing comfortable and hygienic experience to devotees during Kumbh 2019.”

Kumbh Mela is a mass Hindu pilgrimage and the world's largest religious gathering. The Kumbh Mela 2019 is going to be held at Allahabad (Prayag) from January 14th, 2019 to March 4th, 2019.
