Cabinet approves new railway line for Amravati; Narkatiganj-Muzaffarpur railway line also gets go-ahead
The 57-km railway line in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra will have investments worth Rs 2,245 crore. The cabinet also approved a railway line- Narkatiganj-Rexol-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga-Muzaffarpur. The Cabinet has also given the go-ahead to the VC fund for space.
The Cabinet on Thursday (October 24, 2204) approved the Amravati railway line.
The 57-km railway line in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra will have investments worth Rs 2,245 crore.
The new railway line will increase the connectivity between Amravati, Masilipatnam Port, Krishnapatnam Port, and Kakinada Port.
Narkatiganj-Muzaffarpur railway line also gets go-ahead
The cabinet also approved a railway line- Narkatiganj-Rexol-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga-Muzaffarpur.
For the new 256 km railway line, an investment of Rs 4,553 crore will be made.
VC fund gets the go-ahead
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also approved the VC fund for space.
A VC fund of Rs 1,000 crore will be created for space sector startups.
The VC fund will invest in the range of approximately Rs 10 crore to 60 crore.
The VC fund will invest in 30-35 startups.
Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, says so far, more than 250 startups are working in the country.
The space economy is expected to be worth Rs 3 lakh crore by 2033, he says.
7,000 special trains for Diwali and Chhath
Vaishnaw, who is also Railway minister, says that 7,000 special trains are being run for Diwali and Chhath.
This will enable more than 2 lakh passengers to travel daily, he says during the briefing.
