The Indian Railways has launched a weekly Antyodaya Express starting from Santragachi to Chennai Central station. This train would get operational from June 06. Weekly train means, that this express train will begin its journey on June 06 from Santragachi but will then depart from Chennai on June 11. The Santragachi-Chennai Weekly express train was supposed to leave Howrah at 15:00 hours to pass from Visakhapatnam on June 5 at 04.20hrs and finally reach Chennai Central at 19.10hrs.

Today, among the stations the train will stop are Santragachi Junction, Kharagpur Junction, Balasore, Bhadrak , Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack Junction, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road Junction, Balugaon, Chatrapur, Brahmapur, Sompeta, Palasa,Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram Junction, Visakhapatnam Junction, Duvvada, Anakapalle, Samalkot Junction, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada Junction, Chirala, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur Junction, Sullurupeta. 

Piyush Goyal on his official Twitter account said, “Equipped with many modern facilities for the passengers, the new Santragachi - Chennai Central Antyodaya Express will not only enhance connectivity between East & South India but also boost trade & tourism in the regions.”

Santragachi - Chennai Central Antyodaya Express (Weekly) will have train number 22841 and 22842.

  • Modular designed lavatories with Big toilets
  • Provisions of LED lights and mobile charging points 
  • Cushioned luggage racks 

This weekly Indian Railways train will pass through states like West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
