People keep on wandering around troubled, looking for TTE in every coach but can't really find one. However, Indian railways have made certain arrangements, which can help you find TTE in the train without any worries. According to a notification by railways, the berth or seat number of TTE and security guard in all categories of trains is permanently fixed. This step by the Indian railways can facilitate passengers traveling on the waiting and RAC tickets.

Generally the passengers travelling on RAC and waiting tickets look for TTE to know about the availability of passenger seats. But when they do not get to meet the official, they had to travel without seat throughout their journey. Here's where you can find a TTE on train:

Rajdhani and Intercity trains

Along with Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express, Express and Mail trains also have a fixed berth for TTE. The TTE in these trains have been allotted with seat number 7 in every sleeper coach. While if you are traveling in the Intercity train, then you can easily find the official on seat number 1, in every alternate coach i.e. D1, D3, D5 and D7.

Garibarth trains

If you are traveling in Garibath (Chaircar) then you can look for a TTE at seat number 7, in alternate coaches G1, G, 3, G5, G7 on the train. While if you are travelling in the economy coach of Garibarth, you can find the TTE at seat number 7 of coach B1 and BE1.

Superfast trains

Travelers traveling on the Superfast trains would need to go to A1 coach to meet TTE. Berth number 5 is kept fixed for TTE in A1 coaches of all Superfast category trains. While RPF and GRP staff, have been allotted the berth number 63 in coach number S1 by railways.
