Indian Railways cleanest stations: Proud day for Rajasthan as state emerges on top in India; check full list
According to the survey, Jaipur ranked 1st in the Station Cleanliness Survey with an overall cleanliness score of 931.75; Jodhpur ranked 2nd in the survey with an overall cleanliness score of 927.19; and Durgapura ranked with an overall cleanliness score of 922.50.
In the Indian Railways' cleanliness survey, Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat, report, three stations from Rajasthan -- Jaipur, Jodhpur and Durgapura -- have received the honour of being on the top. Unveiling the report, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal informed that Jaipur is placed on the top place, followed by Jodhpur and Durgapura in the ranking of 720 railway stations across the country. The other stations in the NSG category include Jammu Tawi, Gandhinagar-JP, Suratgarh, Vijayawada, Udaipur City, Ajmer and Haridwar.

In suburban railways, Andheri (1st with an overall cleanliness score of 728.52), Virar (2nd with overall cleanliness score of 726.09), and Naigaon (3rd with overall cleanliness score of 718.87) railway stations emerged as top three among 109 stations in the country, said the report, adding that among the railway zones, North Western Railway, South East Central Railway and East Central Railway were the top three cleanest railway zones respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Piyush Goyal said, “Today we are committed to develop India as a Clean India, Healthy India and Prosperous India. Indian Railways is doing its bit to provide a clean and hygienic environment to the travelling people. There is a need to value the change emerged in the mindset of common people."

"Today, cleanliness programme is being conducted over 6500 stations across Indian Railways to showcase the efforts put in by Indian Railways to keep trains, stations and railway premises clean. Indian Railways has celebrated Swachchta Pakhwada from 16th September to 2nd October, 2019. Indian Railways has also banned single use plastic across its premises today onwards," Goyal said.
