India’s corporate sector witnessed a record deals/mergers and acquisitions in the first nine months, which is highest in terms of value and volume in the last eight years since 2015, a Zee Business research report said earlier this week.
From January 1 to September 30 of 2022, deals/mergers and acquisitions of about $ 148 billion has been taken place, with a total volume of 1795 deals, the report further said, adding that before this first 9 months of 2018 had witnessed the record traction of deals of about $ 107.9 billion.
Biggest deals/mergers such as HDFC, LTI-Mindtree, and ACC-Ambuja were among the top deals that happened in 2022, the report said.
The report also stated that the 2022 deal/merger value is 16 per cent higher than the full year of 2021. The full-year deal value in 2021 was $127.6 billion.
The average deal value in 2022 was up 2.4 times than the previous seven years, similarly, volumes were also nearly 41 per cent higher, the report added.
Since 2015, every year there has been growth in terms of deals value and volume, however, a year-on-year dip was seen during covid year 2020. The first nine months of 2020 saw deals/mergers of $ 65.8 billion as compared to $ 69.2 billion in 2019, from January to September.
