Weather alert: Light to moderate rainfall in various parts of India is likely to continue for some more days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which has issued orange and yellow alerts for several regions in the country. The weather department has also said that the monsoon is active with its rapid advancement in the last 4-5 days and has impacted most regions of the country entire countries barring some regions of the northwest.

What is El Nino?
El Nino is a weather phenomenon that involves an abnormal warming up of water surface temperatures in the eastern and central Pacific Ocean, and tends to suppress monsoon rainfall in India. An El Nino influences weather events globally, a situation known as the El Nino effect.

Rainfall in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand
Light to moderate widespread rainfall is very likely over West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand during the next five days. In Himachal Pradesh, heavy rainfall is predicted between June 27 and 29, in East Rajasthan on June 29 and 30, and over Uttarakhand on June 29 and 30.
Rainfall in Goa
"At 0120 hours, clouds are present over talukas of North Goa & South Goa districts of the state. Clouds are generally moving towards the east," according to a bulletin issued by the IMD.
Rainfall in Himachal Pradesh
Incessant rains led to a flood-like situation in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. The heavy rain has disrupted the normal life of people.
There is a possibility of rains for the next five days in Himachal Pradesh, and some places may receive heavy rains, said IMD on Tuesday.
Delhi rainfall
The city is likely to witness a cloudy sky and light rain on Wednesday, according to the IMD.
Mumbai rainfall
IMD forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall for the next two days and has issued an orange alert for the financial capital.
