For the third consecutive year, India is expected to get normal rainfall this time. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that for the June to September season, the long-period average rainfall will be 101 per cent. The country is expected to see a better monsoon delivery this season.

Earlier, IMD expected 98 per cent rainfall. According to a private weather agency, Skymet Weather Services, this season 103 per cent rainfall is expected. Over 96-104 per cent comes under normal rainfall.  Monsoon seasonal rainfall is likely to be well distributed spatially. Most parts of the country are expected to receive normal to above-normal rainfall during the season. The IMD has predicted a normal monsoon for the south and north-west India this time. Central India expects an above-normal monsoon this season.  

Simultaneously, IMD has predicted below normal rainfall in northeast India.  

Apart from this, IMD has said weak El Nino is also expected. Because of this reason also, a good rainfall is expected this time. The situation for the farmers will be favorable. 

IMD will issue the forecast for the July rainfall in the last week of June 2021.
