IMD: Delhi receives 2nd highest rainfall in 1.5 decades; Check weather updates for Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir

Weather Update: The national capital of India on Sunday woke up to another rainy morning. Delhi received the second highest rainfall since 2007, according to the India Meteorological data on Sunday, in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am.
Between Saturday and Sunday, the city people received the second-highest rainfall in 1.5 decades, it said. The city weathered near ceaseless rains 'measuring 74mm till 8.30 am Sunday' that brought the maximum temperature on Saturday down by 10 notches, closing in the day-night temperature gap to a record low.

Apart from that, the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in many parts of Tamil Nadu till October 11. According to the report, the Nilgiris district will get heavy to very heavy rain on Sunday.
There will be heavy rain in Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Namakkal, Coimbatore, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Myladuthurai, Tirupattur, Ranipet, Vellore, Erode, Namakkal and Karur districts of Tamil Nadu. Heavy rain is also predicted in Karaikkal, Puducherry in the next few days, as per IANS report.
Opposite to this, the MeT department said on Sunday that mainly clear to partly cloudy weather is likely during the next 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir.
The weather was dry in the union territory during the last 24 hours, IANS reported. "Mainly clear to partly cloudy weather is likely in J&K during next 24 hours," an office of the MeT department said. Srinagar had 8.2, Pahalgam 5.5 and Gulmarg 5 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
