IISc and IIT Mumbai, the only two Indian universities on global top list
The list consists of the best global universities and are the only international university performance tables to judge world class universities across all of their core missions
Two Indian universities have been ranked among the world's top universities. The Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institue of Technology (IIT) Mumbai made it to the list.
While Indian Institute of Science Bangalore ranked ahead at 251-300 on the list, IIT Bombay was ranked at 351-400.
The ranking was done by The Higher Education World University Rankings for the year 2015-16. The list consists of the best global universities and are the only international university performance tables to judge world class universities across all of their core missions, which include teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
At the top spot on the list was California Institute of Technology, followed by University of Oxford and Stanford University at No 2 and 3 spots respectively.
