Indian Railways passengers have now wider options to order food while travelling and thereby keep their spirits high during the journey.  IRCTC has started e-catering scheme to provide quality and variety in food to Indian Railways passengers. With this IRCTC ecatering scheme, passengers have the freedom to order food of their choice from a huge number of famous restaurants. Western Railway has launched the e-catering facility at 23 major stations.

Some of the major stations where passengers can avail ecatering are -- Mumbai Central(BCT) , Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST), New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS), Old Delhi Railway Station(DEL), Bangalore City Junction(SBC), Chennai Central(MAS), Kanpur(CNB), Allahabad Junction(ALD), Varanasi (BSB), Lucknow(LKO),Itarasi (ET), Bhopal Junction (BPL), Vijaywada(BZA) etc. From a simple combo of daal, roti, and chawal to Mughlai biryani and delicious pizzas, passengers can exercise their freedom and delve into yummy food in Indian railways.

How to order foods on Indian Railways train:

1. Log on to IRCTC official website ecatering.irctc.co.in

2. Enter valid PNR, and choose from the menu. 

3. Choose your menu from wide range of options. 

4. Passengers can either pay online or opt for Cash on Delivery (COD) option.
 
5. Your food will be delivered at a station on your route after you click on "confirm order". 

Step by step guide to order food: Choose from 500+ restaurants. An excellent list of restaurants to choose your favorite meal from. We have all kinds of restaurants with all types of cuisines.

Choose from menu and place order: Choose your favourite meal, be it pizza, thali, non-veg food or biryani. Get healthy hygienically prepared meal.

Get it delivered on your seat / berth: Just be at your seat while hot, mouth watering and super delicious meal for your journey.

Earlier, the Indian Railways passengers had no option except pantry car in the train or stalls at various stations. These restaurants bring a variety of food options for passengers to select from. IRCTC launched this e-catering service in 2015 and the service was extended from time to time.

An Indian Railways passenger can now pick up food items through e-catering service from wide range foods and these foods are also hygienic. The service network is expected to increase in coming years. Foods Domino's Pizza, Faasos, Havmor, Haldiram, Delhi Darbar, Comesum, McDonald's, MFC etc. will be available.
