How to download voter ID or voter list for Lok Sabha election

This time however, the poll panel did not share the overall polling percentage at its briefing, saying the data was being collated and would be available later. As many as 91 constituencies across 18 states and two union territories went to poll on Thursday. Voting would be conducted in other constituencies of the country over the next six phases. To be eligible to vote in Lok Sabha elections, you need to ensure that your name is on the voters' list. If the name is missing from the list, you will not be allowed to vote by the officials at the polling booth. Also, you need to carry voter ID or slip to the booth.
What is voter ID?
A voter ID card or Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) is a photo identity card issued by the Election Commission of India to all individuals who are eligible to vote. The card aims to improve the accuracy of the electoral roll and to help prevent cases of electoral fraud. It also acts as the identification proof when individual’s cast their vote. The card is also known as election card, voter’s card, Voter ID, etc.

How to Download voter ID or slip?
1. Go to the official website of the National Voter Services Portal's (NVSP)
2. Look for 'Search Your Name in Electoral Roll' and click on it.
3. On the new page, enter details like your name, father/husband’s name, district, state, CAPTCHA code etc. Click on search.
4. Your name will appear on the page.
5. Click on view details and the page will direct you to your voter slip or ID.
6. Print the voter id and take it to cast your vote.
It is the right of every Indian citizen or citizens of any democracy to vote. The process ensures that leaders at the Centre or state are elected by the people. In India, citizens above the age of 18 can vote, regardless of caste and gender.
However, you can only vote if you have a voter ID card. So, rush, if you don't have it.
