An official spokesperson for the Himachal Road Transport Corporation said on Wednesday that the corporation will obtain a Rs 110 crore loan from banks to cover its liabilities for death-cum-retirement gratuity and leave encashment of its pensioners.

Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) will take loans from banks for paying its liabilities of death-cum-retirement gratuity and leave encashment of its retirees, an official spokesperson said on Wednesday. The amount of the loan will be Rs 110 crore (approx), as per PTI report.

The state Cabinet decided in a meeting headed by chief minister Jai Ram Thakur that the state would give a guarantee, allowing HRTC (Himachal Road Transport Corporation) to obtain the loan, according to a spokeswoman.

The cabinet also approved an increase in the honorarium for elected representatives at the panchayat level, PTI said.

The Zila Parishad Chairman's honorarium has been raised to Rs 15,000 per month from Rs 12,500, while the Zila Parishad Vice Chairman's honorarium has been raised to Rs 10,000 from Rs 8,000 per month.

According to PTI, members of Zila Parishad will now be paid Rs 6,000 per month instead of Rs 5,000, and Chairman Panchayat Samiti's honorarium has been increased to Rs 9,000 from Rs 7,000.

Vice-Chairman Panchayat Samiti would receive Rs 6,500 per month instead of Rs 5,000, while Member Panchayat Samiti will receive Rs 5,500 per month instead of Rs 4,500.

Similarly, the Pradhan Gram Panchayat honorarium has been increased to Rs 5,500 per month from Rs 4,500, and the Up Pradhan Gram Panchayat honorarium has been increased to Rs 3,500 from Rs 3,000. According to the spokesperson, members of Gram Panchayat would now receive a revised payment of Rs 600 per month, up from Rs 500 previously, said PTI.
