Hichki box office collection by day 3: Rani Mukerji boosts take to Rs 15.35 crore on opening weekend

Hichki box office collection by day 3: Rani Mukerji's latest film, Hichki, has shown a good trend over the first weekend by collecting Rs 15.35 crore by Sunday. Produced by Yash Raj Films the film presents a strong social message as it focuses on turning disadvantages into opportunities and winning despite the challenges thrown by life. In the film, Rani essays the character of Naina Mathur who is suffering from a nervous system disorder known as Tourette Syndrome. The disorder forces a person to make involuntary repetitive movements or sounds.  Trade analyst Taran Adarsh in his tweet published on March 26, 2018, at 2:55 am wrote, "#Hichki finds appreciation from audience and applause from critics... Goes from strength to strength with each passing day... Will have to stay stronger over weekdays now... Fri 3.30 cr, Sat 5.35 cr, Sun 6.70 cr. Total: ₹ 15.35 cr [961 screens]. India biz."

Earlier in his two tweets, he indicated that the film is already a hit irrespective of its performance at the BO. Adarsh had tweeted this message, "What makes #Hichki an OUTRIGHT WINNER is the perfect blend of super content + right economics... While the theatrical biz is going strong, Yash Raj has already recovered *entire* investment [₹ 20 cr] from non-theatrical platforms [Digital, Satellite, Music]." He also said, "It’s a joyous weekend for #Hichki... Biz continues to multiply... Sun *early estimates* ₹ 6.75 cr... 3-day total: approx ₹ 15.40 cr... Can go higher when final numbers come tomorrow... Good content triumphs!"

Other films that have done well at the box office over the recent months include Ajay Devgn led Raid, Deepika Padukone starrer Padmaavat and Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. All of these movies have done very well for themselves at the box office.
