Index heavyweights HDFC Bank, HDFC, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Tata Consultancy Services, YES Bank, ITC and Reliance Industries led the rally in the Indian indices today, as Sensex opened at 33768.47 points.
 
On the BSE, 1349 stocks advanced, 442 stocks declined and 68 remained unchanged.
 
In the Nifty index, 35 stocks advanced, 14 declined and 1 remained unchanged.

Shares of Motherson Sumi were trading slightly higher. Its promoter Samvardhana Motherson International sold 1.37% stake in the firm for over Rs 1,079 crore.
 
HDFC has approved the sale of 100% of its equity share capital of HDFC Developers and HDFC Realty to Quikr India for Rs 101.99 cr and Rs 254.98 crore, respectively. The stock is trading flat after hitting the day's high of 1715.85 on the NSE.
 
VIP Clothing to allot 1.65 crore shares at Rs 26 each via rights issue. The stock was trading below the previous day's close of 79.9 points.
 
Canara Bank plans to sell 4% stake in Can Fin Homes. Stock was trading over 1.6% up.
 
Reliance Power has approached the Delhi HC seeking early allocation of coal to its power plant in Maharashtra. The stock is trading 0.50% up.
 
Shares of NHPC on the BSE advanced over 1.5% in today's trade after the board approved amending the company's Memorandum of Association (MoA) to enable it to apply to power regulator CERC for trading licence.
