Pongal 2022 Wishes and Messages: The festival of Pongal is four-day long festival celebrated by Tamil people. It is celebrated in Tamil Nadu when crops like rice, turmeric, and sugarcane, are harvested. It is considered fortunate. This year, the festival will be held from January 14 to January 17.

The significance of Pongal
This festival is dedicated to Lord Surya, or the Sun God. On Pongal, devotees cook newly harvested rice with milk and jaggery in a new clay pot. People spilled milk all over the pot during the cooking. It is seen as a symbol of wealth and abundance. Pongal is made by topping this combination with brown sugar, ghee, cashew nuts, and raisins. Devotees present the Pongal to the Sun God and then feed it to their entire family on banana leaves.
