The government is working towards guidelines for e-pharmacies, sources told Zee Business.

Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) on Monday has favoured the government's latest move of allowing e-pharmacies in the country and it has provided recommendations to the government.

Here are the key recommendations suggested by the committee:

1. The online sale of medicines may be restricted within state.

2. Negative list of products policy should be incorporated in the online sale of medicine.

3. Narcotic and pyschotropic drugs will not be allowed for online sale.

4. Doctors will be asked to have standard format of prescription.

5. Doctors will be asked to write separate prescription for online purchase.

6. Aadhaar-linked identification to be made for the online purchase of prescribed medicines.
