Government takes stock of new Ethanol projects in Bihar, Assam; projects to cater to demands in North east
The Ministry of Food and Public Distribution on Tuesday reviewed the new ethanol projects and also took updates on projects in Bihar and Assam.
The Ministry of Food and Public Distribution on Tuesday reviewed the new ethanol projects and also took updates on projects in Bihar and Assam.
The Food and Public Distribution ministry took the update of 36 projects in Bihar where 5 projects have already been commissioned while the remaining are expected to be completed by this year.
Whereas, in Assam, 5 projects have got a government go-ahead and are expected to be complete within this year as well. The government had recently approved 71 new projects. Zee Business Ambrish Pandey's reports.
The Ministry said that these projects will meet the ethanol requirement of the North East.
The Food Ministry informed that several foodgrain-based distilleries are to be set up in Bihar which will help in meeting the 20% Ethanol Blending target of Eastern India, all of which will start production by the end of this year.
