Government set to launch new long-term scheme to promote EV adoption this month
There is a meeting in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) this week which is aimed at finalising allocation, regulation, and other points. The scheme will come under a new name, and will not be named FAME.

The scheme will come under a new name, and will not be named FAME.
The budget of the scheme may be more than Rs 10,000 crore.
The scheme will focus on EV promotion and development of related infrastructure.
The scheme may be for a long term.
The current EMPS is expiring on September 30.
