Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft Chief Satya Nadella to fight Covid-19 crisis in India, lend support

Tech giant Google has come forward to help India in this hour of need and has announced Rs 135 core funding to contain the surging Covid 19 cases. Saddened by this Covid 19 second wave in India, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said his company will provide Rs 135 crore funding to UNICEF and the non-profit Give India for medical supplies, supporting high-risk communities.

Meanwhile, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella  also expressed concern over the current coronavirus situation in India and extended Microsoft's resources in helping India win this fight against Coid 19.  Nadella also expressed gratitude towards the United States government that has assured help to India amid the crisis.  

“I am heartbroken by the current situation in India. I’m grateful the US government is mobilizing to help. Microsoft will continue to use its voice, resources, and technology to aid relief efforts, and support the purchase of critical oxygen concentration devices,” Nadella tweeted.

Earlier on Sunday, the United States (US) agreed to send necessary raw materials for Covishield to speed up vaccine manufacturing and help India tide over this crisis.  

US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris also said the US is 'determined' to help India.  

"Just as India sent assistance to the United States as our hospitals were strained early in the pandemic, we are determined to help India in its time of need," ANI quoted US President Joe Biden saying this.  

"The US is working closely with the Indian government to rapidly deploy additional support and supplies during an alarming COVID-19 outbreak. As we provide assistance, we pray for the people of India—including its courageous healthcare workers," said US Vice President Kamala Harris
