Good Newwz box office collections prediction day 1: The Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Good Newwz has got off to a good start at the box office despite witnessing a dull response during the advance bookings. According to film trade analyst, critic and influencer Sumit Kadel, the film has opened to around 25 to 35 per cent occupancy across the country and as the reviews are overwhelming, it should pick up in the evening shows and during the weekend.

"#GoodNewwz has a good start at the box office. Film opened with approx 25-30% occupancy in early morning shows across India," Kadel tweeted. The story of Good Newwz revolves around two married couples - Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani, both trying to conceive a baby through In-vitro Fertilisation (IVF). In a goof up at the clinic, the sperm gets exchanged and what happens then, is what the rest of the story is about.

There is no other big film releasing this week but Good Newwz will face some competition from Salman Khan's Dabangg 3 which had hit the theatres last week. This could be one of the reasons why Good Newwz had slightly low advance booking than other Akshay Kumar films of the year.

However, the spot booking should help film's cause and help it register a decent first day at the box office.

"Advance booking of #GoodNewwz is good, film has got tremendous number of shows at multiplexes across India resulting into slightly low advance compared to other akshay films this year. Nevertheless film will have a good spot booking & shall post a very good Day-1 total," Kadel had tweeted on Thursday evening.

Earlier, Kadel had predicted that Good Newwz can make around Rs 23 crore on day 1 and its first week collection could be around Rs 75 crore.
