Travelling can be very hectic for passengers especially if the journey is made through trains. There comes often a time when the journey we have planned takes a sudden change but you cannot help it because the reservation tickets are already booked. Therefore, in a major good news, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has brought a new service where a passenger can board train from another station, even if the ticket is booked at different station.

The IRCTC through it’s twitter account titled @IRCTCofficial said, “Want to #board #train from another #station but #ticket has been booked? Change your boarding station right from #IRCTC #eTicketing website. Just log on to https://www.irctc.co.in/ or download IRCTC Rail Connect App.”

One can download the IRCTC Rail Connect App from their Google Play Store.

The key features of this app are given below:

• New users, register from app directly
• One step PIN based secure login to existing users
• Search and book train tickets
• Ladies and premium tatkal quota booking support added
• View and cancellation of tickets
• Current reservation and boarding point change facility
• IRCTC website tickets are now synchronized with the app

As for a passenger can make boarding station changes on IRCTC website, by following four steps.

1 A customer will have to log into their IRCTC website with their login ID and password

2 Then click on to ‘Booking Ticket History’ section

3 Select your train and then click ‘Change Boarding Point’. It needs to be noted that this boarding point option will appear on new page

4 The last step would be to select new boarding station from the drop down under change boarding station section

IRCTC has been on multiple occasion introduced a list of facilities for the convenience of the railway passengers.
