Good news for farmers of J&K: Sarveshwar Foods to set up procurement centres in Baramulla, Pulwama
These SFL Choupals will provide real-time, up-to-date, relevant information on price discovery, agri know-how and best practices, etc readily available.
In a piece of good news for farmers of Jammu and Kashmir, agricultural products company Sarveshwar Foods has announced that it will establish facilitation centres to procure dry fruits and apples directly from farmers. This will help the company to engage with the farmers from the very beginning of the crop cycle and assist them at every stage of cultivation.
The company in a regulatory filing said that these procurement centres - known as SFL Chaupals - will be set up in Baramulla and Pulwama. It will set up two such centres, the company added.
"Procurement Facilitation Centres are established with dual purposes, first, to speed-up and smoothen the procurement by eliminating unnecessary leakages, delays, and logistic challenges, and secondly, to engage with the farmers from very beginning of the crop cycle, assist them at every stage of cultivation, provide full patronage," it said in an exchange filing.
These SFL Choupals will provide real-time, up-to-date, relevant information on price discovery, agri know-how and best practices, etc readily available.
"The company will leverage its expertise, in an organised way, to address the various challenges faced by the farmer and provide a 360-degree intervention platform to trigger a virtuous cycle of higher farm productivity, higher income, enlarged capacity for farmer risk management, which will eventually ensure consistent supply of quality, authentic farm products to the company," it added.
