Gold price today at Rs 30,009 per 10 grams

Gold price in India for 24 karat gold today stands at Rs 30,009 per 10 grams, while price for 22 karat gold is Rs 27,508 per 10 grams, according to goldpriceindia.com.

Gold price varies across different cities in the country due to various local market factors like demand and supply of gold, state government taxes and transportation charges of physical gold.

24 karat gold is also known as 999 gold and is the purest form of gold available in market in the form of gold coins and bars. 

Similarly, 22 karat gold is known as 916 gold and is generally used to make jewellery. 

Earlier in January 2018, gold witnessed the highest price at Rs 30,454 per 10 grams, while the lowest gold price was Rs 29,070. Gold price on January 1, 2018 was Rs 29,123 per 10 grams, and at the end of month it was at Rs Rs 30,089.
