Passport

Passport is the first step for realising the foreign dream. You must check out the validity of your passport and details printed on it. If the validity is nearing expiry or there is any misprint/error, you should first get it rectified. If you are going to study abroad, then the validity should cover the duration of your course and offer you some extra months as well.

Medical Fitness
You should also get your medical fitness checked. You should carry the medical certificate with you in case of an emergency situation that you might face abroad. Also, if you have a medical condition, then you should carry some extra medicines and doctor's prescription with you.

Finances
You should also have enough money to support you in case of an emergency. If you use internet banking, then you must inform your bank about you leaving abroad for a certain period of time. Otherwise, they might get suspicious about your transaction carried out from foreign soil and may block your account which you cannot afford at any cost.

Local Culture
The culture of a foreign country might be quite different from yours. So, it's better to have read and learnt about the culture of the country you are visiting. You should also try to learn the language of the country in order to avoid any miscommunication.
