Mumbai Police Traffic Advisory for Ganesh Visarjan (Anant Chaturthi): With the Ganesh Visarjan (Anant Chaturthi), scheduled for Thursday (September 28, 2023), the Mumbai Police on Wednesday (September 27) issued traffic advisory to ensure normal traffic flow in Greater Mumbai. The Police said that the advisory had been made keeping in mind all the programmes at the end of Ganesh Chaturthi.

  • As per the advisory, there will be a ban on the movement of heavy vehicles on Greater Mumbai roads from 10 pm onwards on September 28 to 6 am the next day (September 29).
  • No heavy vehicles will be allowed except vehicles attached with essential services.
  • Exemptions have been made for essential vehicles involved in the supplies of milk, vegetables, bakery items, drinking water, petrol, diesel, while ambulance and school buses will also ply on roads.
  • Many roads will be diverted, and many will be converted into one way with no parking zones on them.
  • According to Zee Business sources, more than 11 thousand police forces will be deployed in Mumbai.
  • Apart from this, preparations to deploy other security forces have also been made.

Trains for Ganesh Visarjan (Anant Chaturthi)

Since a lot of people will travel to their home towns to celebrate Ganesh Visarjan (Anant Chaturthi), the Central and Western Railway sub-divisions of the Mumbai division have issued a circular.

  • According to the circular, Western Railways will run special local trains from Churchgate to Virar at midnight on September 28.
  • A special local train will be run for Mumbaikars on the night of Ganesh Visarjan (Anant Chaturthi).
  • The Central and Western Railway sub-divisions will also run special local trains.
  • Special trains will run from the midnight of September 28.
  • Western Railway will run 8 local trains on its own.
  • A special local will run from the Churchgate station to the Virar station.
  • Central Railway will run 10 special trains.
  • Kalyan, Thane, will run up and down lines on the Central Railway main line.
  • Will also run from CSMT to the Belapur up and down line on the Harbour line.
