G-20 Summit in India: PM Modi to unveil logo, theme and website of India’s G20 Presidency tomorrow
India will host the G-20 leaders’ summit in New Delhi on September 9 and 10 in 2023 under its Presidency.
G-20 Summit 2023: A year ahead of India hosting the G-20 Summit, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will unveil the logo, theme, and website of India’s G20 Presidency on November 8, at 4:30 PM via video conferencing.
India will host the G-20 leaders’ summit in New Delhi on September 9 and 10 in 2023 under its Presidency. India will conduct over 200 G20-related meetings in 32 different sectors across the country during its presidency of the grouping that will begin on December 1, 2022, and continue till November 30, 2023.
The Ministry of External Affairs stated in its release that the G20 Presidency offers a unique opportunity for India to contribute to the global agenda on pressing issues of international importance. “The logo, theme, and website of our G20 Presidency would reflect India’s message and overarching priorities to the world,” mentioned the release.
Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that India is likely to focus on spillover effects, sustainable development goals, and other economic issues in the low- and middle-income countries
What is G20?
G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation representing around 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of the global trade, and about two-thirds of the world population. During the course of its G20 Presidency, India will be holding about 200 meetings in 32 different sectors in multiple locations across India. The G20 Summit to be held next year would be one of the highest-profile international gatherings to be hosted by India.
The G20 comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, EU, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, UK, and USA.
India is currently a part of the G20 Troika (current, previous, and incoming G20 Presidencies) which includes other countries like Italy, India, and Indonesia. During India’s presidency tenure, Brazil and Indonesia would make up the troika. For the first time, three developing nations and emerging economies will be a part of the troika.
