National Automobile Scrappage Policy: In a landmark step to realise India's dream of self-reliance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, August 13 launched vehicle scrappage policy and said that the policy is a significant milestone in India`s development journey . The Prime Minister has announced that an individual will be given a certificate on scrapping the old vehicle and whoever has this certificate will not have to pay any money for registration on the purchase of a new vehicle.

According to an ANI report, taking to Twitter, PM Modi informed about the launch and urged youth and start-ups to join this programme. PM Modi assured that the government will provide all the help for this endeavour.

 

The PMO India tweeted from its official Twitter handle, "To give impetus to self-reliant India, continuous steps are being taken to make the industry sustainable and productive in India. It is our endeavor that as little as possible we have to depend on imports for the value chain associated with auto manufacturing: PM."

 

Another tweet from the official Twitter handle of PMO India said, "Be it ethanol, hydrogen fuel or electric mobility, with these priorities of the government, active participation of the industry is very important. R&D From infrastructure to infrastructure, the industry has to increase its share. The government is ready to provide whatever help you need for this: PM."

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also pointed out the benefits of the National Automobile Scrappage Policy for the normal families. A tweet from PMO said, "Normal families will be greatly benefited by this policy in every way. The first advantage will be that a certificate will be given on scrapping the old vehicle. Whoever has this certificate will not have to pay any money for registration on the purchase of a new vehicle: PM."

 

The Prime Minister further stated that in addition of the above-mentioned facility, the person will be also given some exemption in road tax. The PMO tweet said, "Along with this, he will also be given some exemption in road tax. The second benefit will be that the maintenance cost, repair cost, fuel efficiency of the old vehicle will also be taken into account in this: PM."

 

The Prime Minister has also pointed out that the benefit of this policy is directly related to one's life. A PMO tweet said, "The third benefit is directly related to life. Due to old vehicles, old technology, the risk of road accident is very high, which will give relief. Fourth, it will reduce the impact on our health due to pollution: PM."

 

The National Automobile Scrappage Policy will help the common people and will be a certain boost for the start-ups, a step towards realising India's dream of self-reliance.
