President's Pension: Ram Nath Kovind's term as the President of India ended on July 24. He held the office of the highest constitutional post of the country for five years.

As former President, Kovind is entitled to get a pension amount and some perks under the President's Emoluments and Pension (Amendment) Act, 1951.

President pension in India:

All the former Presidents get Rs 2.50 lakh pension per month, as per the President's Emoluments And Pension (Amendment) Act, 2008. Earlier, the pension amount was Rs 50,000. Besides, all the former President are also entitled to several other allowances and facilities.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of the President of India. Since Kovind's term has ended on June 24, he no longer can stay at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He has to vacate the Rashtrapati Bhavan to allow the new President of India to occupy the palace. So, where will Kovind and his family live now?

Ram Nath Kovind new house:

Kovind as a former President is entitled to Type-8 government accommodation. He has been allotted 12, Janpath. The bungalow has 8 rooms. 

The bungalow was earlier occupied by LJP chief and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan who passed away in 2020. The bungalow was then allotted to Ashwini Vaishnav, the Minister of Railways; Communications and Electronics & Information Technology. He, however, didn't shift here.

Kovind will also be provided with two landlines, a mobile phone, internet connection, free electricity and water.

Delhi Police will provide security to Kovind. A car and driver will also be in service 24x7.

Kovind will also get free medical treatment. Besides, he will get free first-class rail and flight tickets whenever he wishes to travel.

That is not all, the former President's spouse will also get Rs 30,000 every month for secretary level assistance.
