Foreign exchange earnings from tourism rose 20% in July
So far in this year, FEEs from tourism has grew by 15% to Rs 87,384 crore versus Rs 76,017 crore with a growth of 9.5% of previous year.
Foreign exchange earnings (FEEs) increased to Rs 14,319 crore in July 2016 as against Rs 11,982 crore in July 2015 and Rs 10,284 crore in July 2014.
So far in this year, FEEs from tourism has grew by 15% to Rs 87,384 crore versus Rs 76,017 crore with a growth of 9.5% of previous year.
Moreover, the number of foreigners travelling to India has jumped by almost 17%.
Foreign travelling arrivals (FTA) in this period were 7.36 lakh as compared to 6.28 lakh during the month of July, 2015 and 5.69 lakh in July, 2014.
Overall from January - July 2016, the performance of FTAs is robust.
