Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Sitharaman tagged the officials of Department of Financial Services, which oversees the functioning of banks and financial services, and asked to redress the grievance of a twitter user – Varsha Sikri as soon as possible (ASAP).

She responded to Sikri’s post which alleged that the Axis Bank didn’t help her when she reported a fraud transaction to the tune of Rs 15,430 on her credit card in April.

“There was a fraud transaction on my axis bank credit card of 15340rs on 2nd April. I requested axis bank to look into this matter as it is a serious offence. But axis bank didnt help me and now they are mentally harassing me for payment,” says Sikri’s post. She tagged RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, the Reserve Bank of India, the Finance Minister and the Axis Bank in her tweet.
