Even as market falls, mutual funds continue buying

Even as there was a continuous bloodbath in the market after Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented Union Budget 2018 in Parliament last week, mutual funds purchased net stocks worth Rs 472.51 crore on February 7, compared with a net inflow of Rs 1312.05 crore on February 6.
The net inflow of Rs 472.51 crore on February 7 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2,983.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 2,511.29 crore, a Motila Oswal report said.
On February 7, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 113.23 points or 0.33% to settle at 34,082.71, its lowest closing level since January 4, 2018.
Mutual funds have purchased shares worth a net Rs 1,422.53 crore in February 2018 (till February 7, 2018). They had purchased net shares worth Rs 9023.16 crore in January 2018.
