Editor's Take: Gradually start boycotting Chinese products, says Anil Singhvi

In the view of biggest ever military confrontation between India-China armies in over five decades, Zee Business Managing Editor and renowned market guru Anil Singhvi has said that we should slowly and gradually start boycotting Chinese products and eventually move them out of the system. "We should bring substitutes to the existing Chinese products, and promote and buy more and more Indian products, he said and added that to deal with this situation we should all be in it together.

Also, Singhvi added that during these times a big responsibility lies with Indian entrepreneurs as well. "Indian entrepreneurs should think about making available local products at cheaper prices as compared to Chinese products," Singhvi added.

The Indian Army on Tuesday said that 20 Army personnel, including a colonel, were killed on Monday night in the biggest ever military confrontation between the two armies in over five decades. Government sources on Tuesday said the Chinese side suffered "proportionate casualties".

The External Affairs Ministry said the violent face-off between armies of India and China in eastern Ladakh was the result of an attempt by the Chinese side to unilaterally change the status quo in the region.

On Wednesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the overall situation in eastern Ladakh with Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat and the three service chiefs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a meeting with the Defence minister as well as Home Minister Amit Shah, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Army Chief General MM Naravane on the situation in the region.

Monday's violent clash in eastern Ladakh's Galwan Valley was the biggest confrontation between the two militaries after their 1967 clashes in Nathu La in 1967 when India lost around 80 soldiers while over 300 Chinese army personnel were killed in the confrontation.
