Earthquake in Delhi today just now: Earthquake tremors were felt in parts of Delhi, capital city of India, on Thursday night. There were no reports of any damage or injuries to anyone. However, the earthquake created panic, waking up people who had gone to sleep and those who were awake actually saw the walls shaking. The fear of aftershocks after the earthquake, sent people rushing outdoors.

However, the earthquake created panic, waking up people who had gone to sleep and those who were awake actually saw the walls shaking and making a sudden, sharp, rumbling noise. Many people ran out of homes despite the cold winter night just to be on the safe side in case there were aftershocks. The actual earthquake barely lasted a few seconds. Earthquake tremors were felt in the national capital on Thursday night. Reports are filtering in of tremors being felt across the Delhi-NCR region - Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad.
National Center for Seismology has now reported that a medium intensity earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale has hit Rajasthan's Alwar region and tremors of the same were felt in Delhi-NCR too.

The epicentre of the earthquake was Alwar in Rajasthan, according to the NCS. The earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred at 11.46 pm at a depth of five kilometres, it said.
In a tweet, Skymet Weather said: "Earthquake tremors in Delhi NCR. Tremors felt in Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad."

Earthquake jolts islands off Japan's Izu peninsula, agency says
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 hit a group of small islands off the coast of Japan`s main island of Honshu on Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The epicentre of the earthquake was off the coast of the Izu peninsula, the agency said, adding that a tsunami warning had not been issued.
Earthquake in Jaipur
Earlier on Thursday, an earthquake of 3.0 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Thursday. As per the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the tremors were felt around 11 am, 64 kilometres north west of Jaipur. "Earthquake of Magnitude:3.0, Occurred on 17-12-2020, 11:26:01 IST, Lat: 27.40 and Long: 75.43, Depth: 5 Km, Location: 64km NW of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India," NCS tweeted.
Earthquake in Ibaraki
Across the globe, an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 shook eastern Japan on Thursday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The epicentre of the earthquake was in Ibaraki prefecture, north of the capital Tokyo, the agency said, adding that a tsunami warning had not been issued.
