In the early morning at 8:19 AM on August 26, the entire northeast India observed earthquake jolts that put the normal life there in jeopardize. The epicenter of this earthquake was in Myanmar and its magnitude was 5.1. As per the Seismology Department of India, shivers of an earthquake were observed in Dibrugarh, Dimapur Sadar, Imphal, Silchar and Nagaon. No damage to the public property and any casualty have been reported by the local administration till the report was written.

Earlier on August 17th, the earthquake had hit the Indo-Myanmar border region. But, the magnitude of that earthquake was quite low. As per the Seismology Department of India, this earthquake was of 2.1 magnitude recorded at Richter Scale. The local administration reported that there were no damage to the public property or any casualty. The epicenter of August 17th earthquake was in Manipur at Ukhrul district.

On August 16th, Arunachal Pradesh had to face earthquake jolts which had a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter Scale. Papum Para district of the state was the major center of the earthquake.

Various local administrations in the northeast have reported that after the series of earthquake jolts, there is a kind of terror among the people living there and the administration is doing everything to console the public in general.
