You can start your business with the Railways and start earning by selling tickets through Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), which is recruiting Rail Travel Service Agent (RTSA). These agents can book online rail tickets in their city, for which they get attractive commission.

Who is RTSA agent?

IRCTC appoints some authorised agents in every city who are allowed to book tickets online by logging in from their place on the IRCTC website. For accomplishing this, they are given separate IDs. In exchange for ticket booking, they are extended attractive commission.

How much will it cost you?

To become a Rail Travel Service agent, you are required to deposit only Rs 20,000, and of this amount, Rs 10 will be credited as security which will be refundable. Notably, demand draft made in the name of IRCTC, and for the agent renewal, you need to pay Rs 5000 every year.

How to submit you application?

To become a Rail Travel Service Agent, you need to take a Class Personal Digital Certificate which can be obtained from any Indian Certifying Authority.

How much commission will you get?

IRCTC has fixed the commission rate for agents. This Commission is permitted as Rail Travel Service Agency. While ticket booking, you can charge a maximum of Rs 30 for a sleeper class ticket, and a maximum of Rs 60 per ticket can be charged on the AC ticket. This commission will be extra from the ticket price, besides the service tax.

How to become an IRCTC agent?

1. In order to become an authorised agent of Indian Railways, you are required to make an agreement on a stamp paper of Rs 100.
2. You are also required to have Demand Draft of Rs 20,000 in the name of IRCTC.
3. You will have to attach its copt with the IRCTC's registration form.
4. You also need to have Class III third personal digital certificate.
5. You also need to have a letter from concerned zonal railway.
6. PAN card, income tax returns of past few years along with an address proof must be submitted.
