LS Polls Phase 4 Dry Day Cities and States: As the fourth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is scheduled for May 13, the government has declared dry days in a few states on this day. For the fourth phase of the elections, schools have also been closed in the constituencies of states where polling is being held. Some private and government offices are also closed.

Dry Day On May 13: Certain states have declared a Dry Day owing to voting during the fourth phase. These states include Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. The banning of alcohol has been proclaimed to preserve law and order in the states, and it will be abolished after the voting process is over.

Meanwhile, banks will also remain closed tomorrow, May 13, on account of Lok Sabha Phase 4 polls. Check the full list of states here 

In the fourth phase, polling will be held In 96 constituencies of nine states and a union territory, namely, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir.

Here is the list of states where alcohol is prohibited on May 13.

Andhra Pradesh: In Andhra Pradesh, all liquor outlets will be shuttered for the votes. The ban order is effected from 7 PM, May 11 n until the end of polls on May 13, 2024. This injunction applies to all liquor establishments in the region, within an 8-kilometer radius of the constituency.

Jammu & Kashmir: In Srinagar also, the dry day has been declared in Srinagar from 6 PM on May 11 to 6 PM, May 13, 2024. The order reads, “In light of the ECI election schedule district Srinagar is going to polls for Lok Sabha Elections-2024 on May 13, 2024, ‘Dry Day’ is declared from 6.00 PM on 11/05/2024 till 13/05/2024” in the district. Accordingly, all liquor shops, bars, eating houses, etc will be shut during the said period and no liquor will also be served in hotels, clubs, and other establishments.”

Telangana: A Dry Day has also been declared in Telangana as the state will go for voting during the fourth phase. Section 144 has also been imposed in the area to maintain law and order.

Maharashtra: Dry Day in Pune has been announced for all the areas where polling is being conducted. Liquor sale has been prohibited from 6:00 PM on May 11 and the restrictions continue till 6:00 PM on May 13 which is the day of polling.
