DoT receives applications from 70 companies for MVNO license
The department had issued the MVNO policy on March 30 this year.
The Department of Telecom (DoT) has received application from 70 companies for the Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) license, reported Aseem Manchanda.
The department had issued the MVNO policy on March 30 this year.
Some of the companies which have applied for the license include Future Group and DataWind.
The department will start giving the licenses from the beginning of October.
MVNO license is for a wireless communication services provider that does not own the wireless network infrastructure over which the company provides the services to its customers.
The MVNO telecom services are brought by existing operators. These services are bought in bulk at wholesale rates and are given to customers. The telecom services are provided through its branding.
