Domestic markets open flat, Sensex up over 60 points

Markets opened flat on Monday with BSE Sensex edging up 0.21% to 28,660 points while NSE Nifty 50 inched up 0.18% to 8795.70 points.

ICICI bank today listed one of the biggest Initial Public Offering of its subsidiary ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. The insurer allotted Rs 1,635 crore worth of shares seeking 13.23 crore shares issue.

Shares of the company were trading up 1.55% at Rs 271.70 per share in early trade on Monday ahead of its IPO listing.

BSE Sensex edged lower  0.02% at 0931 hours to 28,598.79 points. 

Rupee was trading at Rs 66.88 per dollar in early trade.

Top gainers on the benchmark index were Balramchin (5.56%), Cox & Kings (4.99%), Renuka (4.64%), RDel (3.49%), IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd (3.43%).

Among the losers were Castrolind (2.15%), Thermax (2.08%), Eclerx (1.54%), GET&D (1.53%) and MFSL (1.57%) at 0928 hours.
