After the Diwali mahurat trading, the Sensex closed at 32,389.96 down 195 points or 0.60%, while Nifty 50 below 65 points or 0.63% at 10,146.55
BSE India on Thursday welcomed the Vikram Samvat Year 2074 by holding a one hour 'Mahurat' trading session between 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm.
On the backdrop of festive mood, BSE commenced its evening by felicitating top volume brokers in Equity, Equity Retail, equity institutional segment, Equity Prop Segment, Equity Algo Segment, Currency Derivatives, Sovereign Gold Bond, Interest Rate Derivatives, Fixed Income, Settlement of Corporate Bonds segments and IPO / FPO /OFS, Mutual Fund and SME Members.
Here's the list of top performers in the above mentioned categories.
Muhurat (Auspicious) Trading' marks the beginning of the new trading year for the Gujarati community, who form the bulk of share brokers in India. For the trading communities the new financial year begins with the next day after Diwali.
However, after one hour of trading, the Sensex closed at 32,389.96 down 195 points or 0.60%, while Nifty 50 below 65 points or 0.63% at 10,146.55.
Bharti Airtel took the lead in gainers spot on BSE by climbing over Rs 10 or 2.06% and ended at Rs 471.05 per piece.
Other gainers were - Infosys at Rs 928.45 per piece, Mahindra & Mahindra at Rs 1374.80 per piece and Dr Reddy's Laboratories at Rs 2388 per piece trading positive in the range of 0.05% - 0.50%.
Losers involved were - ICICI Bank at Rs 257.70 per piece down by 2.03%, followed by Tata Motors at Rs 424.80 per piece (2.02%), Adani Ports at Rs 398.85 per piece (2%), Coal India at Rs 285 per piece (1.17%), Kotak Mahindra Bank at Rs 1078.45 per piece (1.73%) and NTPC at Rs 175.15 per piece (1.60%).
