Diesel prices in India today unchanged in metro cities; check other states who saw hike
Diesel prices are today going in opposite direction compared to petrol, as the latter saw a decline of 1 paisa per litre each in various state capitals, while diesel saw increase of 2 paisa per litre.
The state-owned oil companies like Indian Oil Corp Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corp Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corp Limited (BPCL) on Wednesday, decided to keep diesel prices unchanged in various state capitals of India. This was despite global crude oil rose on during the day, lifted by tensions in the Middle East and healthy demand, although rising U.S. output continued to weigh on markets. After being having reverse trend in petrol prices for quite some time now, diesel prices for finally in line with the latter during the day.
Diesel price in New Delhi: Diesel price in the national capital was available at Rs 62.80 per litre same as compared to the previous day.
Diesel price in Kolkata: Similarly, in Kolkata diesel was available at Rs 65.49 per litre.
Diesel price in Mumbai: Diesel in this city was priced at Rs 66.88 per litre - unchanged compared to previous day prices.
Diesel price in Chennai: Diesel price in Chennai was at Rs 66.21 per litre.
Diesel prices in other state capitals: Other key cities also saw increase in their diesel prices. The product in Bangalore was available at Rs 63.86 per litre, Bhopal at Rs 66.22 per litre, Bhubaneswar at Rs 67.36 per litre, Chandigarh at Rs 60.96 per litre, Dehradun at Rs 63.44 per litre, Gandhinagar at Rs 67.59 per litre, Hyderabad at Rs 68.23 per litre, Jaipur at Rs 67.16 per litre, Lucknow at Rs 63.28 per litre, Patna at Rs 67.38 per litre, Raipur at Rs 67.85 per litre and Srinagar at Rs 66.13 per litre.
Moreover, a Reuters report stated that, Saudi Arabia`s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday arrived in Washington for a state visit, raising speculation the United States could reimpose sanctions on Iran, following rewnewed criticism of the 2015 nuclear deal, reported in Reuters.
Following this on Wednesday, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at $63.80 a barrel at 0230 GMT, up 26 cents, or 0.4 percent, from their previous close. Brent crude futures were at $67.71 per barrel, up 29 cents, or 0.4 percent.
