Diesel price in India today down by 3-4 paisa each in metro cities
Currently, diesel prices in India is derived taking into consideration the Indian basket of international crude oil, involving state taxes like Value Added Tax (VAT), excise duty and other charges.
The state-owned oil companies today decided to trim down prices of diesel in the range 3 paisa to 4 paisa each in various state capitals. The prices were brought down despite international crude prices seeing uptrend on Friday, on reports that US President Donald Trump and North Korea leader Kim Jong Un will be meeting anytime on the day.
Diesel price in New Delhi: In the national capital city, diesel price cut by 3 paisa is available at Rs 62.88 per litre compared to Rs 62.91 per litre of the previous day.
Diesel price in Kolkata: Similarly, 3 paisa cut was made here as diesel was available at Rs 65.57 per litre against Rs 65.60 per litre of the previous day.
Diesel price in Mumbai: Diesel here was valued at Rs 66.96 per litre, down by 4 paisa versus previous day price of Rs 67 per litre.
Diesel price in Chennai: Compared to above three metro cities, diesel price in Chennai also saw cut of 3 paisa, and was available at Rs 66.30 per litre from Rs 66.33 per litre of previous day.
Diesel price in other state capitals: Other cities also saw reduction in their diesel prices. The product in cities like Bangalore was available at Rs 63.94 per litre, Bhopal at Rs 66.42 per litre, Bhubaneswar at Rs 67.45 per litre, Chandigarh at Rs 61.04 per litre, Dehradun at Rs 63.51 per litre, Gandhinagar at Rs 67.79 per litre, Hyderabad at Rs 68.32 per litre, Jaipur at Rs 67.35 per litre, Lucknow at Rs 63.35 per litre, Patna at Rs 67.46 per litre, Raipur at Rs 67.93 per litre and Srinagar at Rs 66.21 per litre.
Petrol prices were increased by 4 to 5 paisa each per litre on Friday, in the above mentioned state capitals.
Brent crude futures were at $63.95 per barrel at 0102 GMT, up 34 cents, or 0.5 percent, from their previous close.
US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at $60.39 a barrel, up 27 cents, or 0.45 percent. WTI also fell by more than 2 percent the previous session.
