Dhadak box office collection day 1: Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter film set to hit Hollywood hurdle

Dhadak box office collection day 1: Dwayne Johnson starrer Skyscraper is set to hit the screens in India on the same day that Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak is going to release, which is today. While there is not much reason to worry for Bollywood movies, but recent years have seen some fantastic performances by Hollywood films. And considering the man they call The Rock has been quite popular within India ever since his freestyle wrestling days, Dhadak producers have something to worry about. And not just The Rock, they would also need to worry about the longevity of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju in cinemas. Clearly, both these movies are set to impact Dhadak collection, especially in the metros. 

To give just one of the best performing Hollywood movies in India's example, then know that Avengers: Infinity War box office collections were logged at an eye-popping Rs 31 crore on day 1. The movie went on to earn a whopping over Rs 200 cr - Rs 227.43 cr to be exact! That was a thriller of a movie and anything Dwayne Johnson acts in also promises to be a thrill-per-second movie. After all, Dwayne has not become the highest paid actor in Hollywood for no reason at all! Prediction is that Dhadak collection will be over Rs 5 crore on day 1.

Dhadak collection will also feel the pinch of Sanju. The film is still making good money. Sanju collection is Rs 323.57 cr by day 20 and what is notable is the fact that on this day it managed to earn as much as Rs 2 cr. With the weekend looming, Sanju collection will rise further, affecting Dhadak.

However, Dhadak collection may get saved by a few reasons. One is that it is the debut of Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of the late actress Sridevi. Her father is Boney Kapoor and  he is a filmmaker of repute. Over and above everything else, the producer is Karan Johar. The man has shown over the years that he knows how to get the best out of debutants. And not to forget, Ishaan Khatter is the half-brother of Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor!
