Giving relief to common man due to cash crunch, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari tweeted 'Toll suspension is extended till 2nd December midnight across all National Highways'.

As per earlier announcement, today was the last day of the suspension of the fee collection. This is the third time the government has extended the date to ensure smooth traffic movement across all National Highways.

On November 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes leading to limited cash float in the country.

However, till now, no announcement has been made on the extension of the usage of old notes at public utilities such as government hospitals, petrol pumps and railway ticketing.
