Good news finally coming for the residents of Delhi as the Government is preparing for unlockdown. As the new coronavirus cases decline in the National Capital, the government is preparing to ease restrictions from 1 June. While the positivity rate has come down, the total number of active cases are also down. What will be the form of this unlocking? Zee Business’ Sameer Dixit has a detailed report.

Citing his top government sources, Dixit said that the Government may soon take a decision on the unlocking of NCT Delhi. He said that the unlocking could begin from 1 June, he further said.

He said that there could be a “restricted” lockdown from 1 June. It is being said that the state government will allow those shops that are related to construction and real estate. Another segment that could see some relaxation is maintenance and repair.  

The government is also deliberating if the salons could be open for limited period with Covid-19 protocols.

The development is on the back of lower number of cases being reported in Delhi. The official decision on this could come over the next 1-2 days, he further said. 

Maharashtra is another state where there will be a meeting on Thursday to decide on unlocking. 

What may remain closed? 

Dixit said that the government may still not allow, gyms, swimming pools and malls as the threat still looms.
